KOLLENGODE

It is about 20 km from palakkad , the literal meaning of kollengode is ‘Adobe of Blackmiths’ cherishes the rural beauty of palakkad . this place also hold an ancient monument namely kollengode palace . which is a memorial of kunchan nambiar.

MEENKARA

PATTUTSAVAM

This is 9 day annual program , consists of cultural performance, conventions and elephant processions falls in January.

CHALIYAPORATTU

This is also an annual festival, it is celebrated at Bhagavathi temple , occurs in march.

PALAKUNNU

This festival is marked by long procession of women carrying earthen pots which are then deposited at the local temple. The major attraction is traditional dances.

PALAKUNNU BHARANI

The highlight of this festival is grand processions and sparkling fireworks. Usually it was held during march.

NILESWAR POORAKALI

This is also an annual festival held during last week of march, at bhagavathi temple

MAJOR ATTRACTIONS IN KASARGODU

BEKAL FORT : it is about 16 km on the south of kasargodu . the fort with its circular laterite  structure about 130 ft above sea level. It is belived that the fort was constructed about 300 years back. The beautiful Pallikere beach is about 1 km from this fort. The aqua park nearby has a variety of thrills to offer like the pedal boats , water cycles, boating etc. the bekal tourism project is launched to make the naturally gifted place Bekal one of the finest tourist centers.

KAPPIL BEACH

It is about 5 km form Bekal fort. This fascinating beach apparently isolated offers calm and charm . the kodi cliff at a stone’s throw is the vantage point to get an a real glimpse of the great expanse of the Arabian sea.

ANANTHAPURA LAKE TEMPLE

It is about 30 km form bekal , this is an ancient temple amidst a serene lake belongs to the 9 th century . formerly this temple is known as Moolasthanam of Sri Padmanabha swamy, the presiding deity of the temple at thirvanthapuram.

ANANDASRAM

THULUR VANAM

The temple here about 4 km from Panathur is dedicated to Kshetrapalan and Bhagavathy, this place also called kekulom. The famous sivarathi mahotsav festival is attended by large number of devotes.

POSSADIGUMPE

It is about 18 km east of mangalpady, this is a hilly region , about 1060ft above sea level.

CENTRAL  PLANTATION CROPS AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE

In shortly the institute is known as CPCRI. Which was established in 1970, the head quarters at kudlu. It is about 5 km from kasargodu, the major activities in this institute is  improving the genetic potential plantation crops, production of superior quality crop plants.

MALIK DEENAR MOSQUE

The mosque has a historic importance, the jumma masjid is believed to have been built by Malik Ibn. The mosque reflects kerala style architecture and culture. Which is located at Thalankara.

PANDIYAN KALLU

It is rock formation about 2 km form Trikkanad temple. The story behind this stone formation is that this rock was once a ship which was converted to a rock. The rock serves as the target of many swimming contest.

MADIYANKULAM DURGA TEMPLE

The temple is on the name of Bhadrakali the goddess for Brabery hosts two grand annual festivals. The festival held during may and January. Bootham a dance form which is the attraction in this festival.

NILESWARAM

The cultural centers of the district are located here. The Kavil Bhavan Yoga and cultural centre here is famous for its Naturopathy, treatments. The folklore centre of Archaeological department is at Nileswaram.
