coorg is an excellent place for outdoor activities like trekking, shopping, angling etc
trekking: coorg has beautiful trekking routes. the best time for trekking is during the month of october to february. some well known trekking paths are brahmagiri, irrupa falls, pushpagiri etc
angling: valanoor is a beutiful backwater . it is an idle spot for fishing. the best season is in between october and may.
golf: different golf clubs are functioning in coorg.
shopping: the main shopping items includes coffee, honey, cardamom, pepper, pineapple etc.
food: coorg is famous for delicious foods, the dishes includes pork, lamb, chicken etc.

kodagu coorg
kodagu is a district of karnataka in south india. it is also known by the name coorg. it covers about 4100 square kilometers. according to the census done by india government in 2001, coorg has a population of 548560 . the capital of kodagu located at madikeri. the bordered districts are hassn district, dakshina kannnada, mysore district, kannur district, wayanadu district etc.
kodagu is located in the eastern regions of western ghats. the district is about 900 m above sea level. the main river in this district is kaveri. heavy rain fall occurs during july-august. the average temperature of kodagu is 15 degree C. the highest temperature occuring during the month of april and may. the main town in coorg is madikeri. the other towns are virajpet,kushalnagar, somwarpet etc.

coorg is popularly known by the name scotland of india. the district capital of coorg located at madikeri. it is about 1525 m above sea level. the main attractions in coorg are green mountains, cool weather and sparkling valleys. so many elephants can be seen in dubare forest located in the southern part of coorg.

the best time to visit coorg is in between october and april.
