Anamudi Shola National Park is a protected area in Western ghats , located in idukki disrtict of kerala. This national park composed of Idivara shola, Mannavan shola, Pullardi shoala etc. Anamudi national park is under the control of Kerala forest Department. It is at an altitude of 2152 meters. The average rainfall here is about 4500 mm. Number of national parks are located near to Anamudi national park, they are mathikettan shola national park, Eravikulam national park, Chinnar national park, Pambadum national park, Kurinjimala sanctuary etc.
The literal meaning of Anamudi is “elephant forehead”. Anamudi is the highest peak in Western Ghats .It is also the highest peak in south India. The main animal life found here are Asian Elephants, Nilgiri tahr, Bengal tigers etc.
Number of tourist locations in the national park. Thoovanan waterfall located at Anamudi is one of the major tourist spot .Thousands of tourists are coming here and enjoying the beauty of nature.
