Recently kerala government launched a beautification project of Thazhathangadi . This village has a good ancestor history. Not only the devotees  but also the tourists are also coming here for enjoying the artistic elegance of  this village.

Promotion of rural ecotourism in kerala

Koombra is a small hilly hamlet in southern part of kozhikode district, lying in the midst of picturesque western ghats and the evergreen rain forests. Shghandini an NGO has arranged farmhouses in the Koombra village as homestays for benefit of visitors. The district tourism promotion council is also a stake holder of this project  which has been supported by NABARD .

Thrissur flower show

The flower show organized by the Thrissur Agri holticulture society in association with the kerala agricultural university., vegetables  and fruits promotion Council and Agriculture department , the flower show showcases , rare and exotic , plants and flowers and other garden products. More than 150 varieties of flowers are on display.

Exotic orchids as well as export quality variety of anthuriums are a visual treat. Vying for attention of visitors are several varieties of roses , petunia, zinnia and phlox.  The flower show is aimed at creating awareness among the public on the diversity of floriculture , horticulture products apart from innovations in agriculture. Gardening tools , fertilizers and pesticides are also available. The major attraction of the show will be the floral arrangements.  Thematic decorations in Indian tradition and western styles to suit every occasion are bound to fascinate people. Apart from the floral decorations , vegetables and fruits carving and a pet show of various species of birds and animals is also attracting visitors.

Tourism sector via the tourism products gives a wide area for the rural development.

The kerala government concentrating on the improvement of key areas like , industry , agriculture and basic infrastructure.  The tourism occupied the second position  , in the world wide ranking of highest revenue generating industry .  Domestic and foreign tourists are attracted by different things.  First up all we need to under stand , which types of serviced is provided to attracts tourists. Rural tourism will adjoin peoples of different cultures , faith , and lifestyles close together . it will gives a broader out look of life. The tourism sector will not only provides employment but also it will develop the cultural, social , and educational sectors.
