Hampi is a part of northern Karnataka . Hampi was serves as the capital city of vijayanagar empires.  Now hampi is a quaint village with remainings of  past history.  The ruins includes more than 500 monuments. It is a world heritage site.  The famous picnic spots in hampi are – monolith bull, virupaksha temple, vithala temple, queen ‘s bath, lotus mahal , zanana enclosure. Etc.

Mahabalipuram – Famous tourist destination in Tamilnadu

Mahabalipuram is a famous tourist destination  in tamil nadu . This town is situated near to sea shore.  It serves as a port city during the time of  Pallava rulers. Mahabalipuram is a world heritage site. The prime attractions here is beautiful rock structures.  Another attractions is Pancha Rathas , five temples .  it is believed that the temples were built by Narasimhavarman and Rajasimhavaraman.  Now it is a famous tourist spot with rich cultural value.  An annual festival Mamallpuaram dance festival attracts thousands of tourists.

Ananthapur – A small description

Ananthapur is a beautiful district in Andhra Pradesh . the district have number of monuments, temples, pilgrim spots ,forts etc.  The forts and temples here have excellent architecture and beautiful sculptures.  Most of these structures was built during Vijayanagar Empire.

The world famous , Sree sathya sai baba’s asramam at Puttaparthi is a part of Ananthapur district.  Number of pilgrims are coming here for the darsan of bhagavan sai baba.

The district have a rich biodiversity . A portion of the district is thick forest .

Hemavathi – Thimmamma Marrimanu

Hemavathi

Hemavathi is a historic village located about 10 km away from Amarapuram , in Andhra Pradesh . the village was prominent during Pallava rulers, in 10 th century.  At that time the city is known by the name Henjeri.  The village has a famous siva temple , with excellent architecture.  Here you can see another temple dedicated to Lord Siddeswara , a form of lord siva.

Thimmamma Marrimanu

This place have religious and picnic importance.  Thimmamma marrimanu occupied in the  Guinness book . Here you can see a big tree with historic value.

Penukonda fort

Penukonda fort is a huge fort located in Ananthapur district of Andhra Pradesh . this fort is situated in a hill ,about 914m above the sea level.  The fort have some precious monuments , with historic value.  About 365 temples can be seen inside the fort .

Gooty fort

It is one of the oldest for in  Andhra Pradesh . it is about 45 km away from ananthapur town.  The fort is located in Gooty .

Rayadurg fort

This fort is also located in ananthapur district . it is about 2727 ft above the sea level.  The fort was built by Vijayanagar rulers.  A temple ,known by the name Dasabhuja ganapathi temple can be seen inside the fort .
