Assam divided into three geographical regions, southern part Barek valley, northern part alluvial Brahmaputra valley and the hilly region .
The plain regions experiences tropical climate and the hilly region have sub alpine climate . During summer season the temperature is in between 35 degree and 38 degree C. During winter the temperature drops to 5 degree c. Annual rainfall is about 2800 mm.
The plant species in Assam includes lac , bamboo, sal and teak, . The Assam forest consists of 75 different species of trees. Animal species includes elephants, buffalo, rhinoceros, deer , sambar, tiger , deer , hog badger , jungle cat , langur, pigmy hog, hoolock gibbon, goose, jackal , river chats , heron, forktail , fishing eagle etc.
Number of tribal groups are present in Assam state , those have great cultural varieties . The tribal groups includes Deoris , Borokacharis, dimassas , misings , rahbhas, and lalungs . Mainly three agricultural festivals namely Kongali bihu, bhoali bihu and Rongali bihu .
