Madai para is located in kannur district in kerala. The prime attraction in madai para is a beautiful mosque , which was built in 12 th century. This mosque was constructed by using white marbles, imported from Arabia. A marvelous structure built by Tipu sultan known by the name Ram shackle fort attracts thousands of tourists to madai para.
Another attraction in madai para is ‘ madai kavu temple and vadakunnu temple.

Recently the kottiyur wildlife sanctuary is added to the existing aralam wildlife sanctuary, so that the total extent of wildlife area increased in kannur district. According to the estimation of kerala government kottiyur wildlife sanctuary covers an area of 3037.98 hectares. The aralam wild life sanctuary covers the northern parts of kerala , having an area of 5500 ha. . by the recent order from the forest department , says that kottiyur is a part of aralam , so the total area of wildlife sanctuary becomes 8537.98 ha. . the new wild life sanctuary is under the control of Aralam wildlife division of kannur forest department.
The aralam wild life sanctuary was created by taking lands from the odenthodu, thalasseri forests, malavaram , and kottiyur reserve forest. The kottiyur reserve forest consists of semi ever green and ever green forests , which consists of rich biodiversity.
The forest department of kerala submitted a new proposal to form a new wildlife sanctuary Thirunelli.

Payyambalam is a beautiful beach in kannur district of kerala . it attracts thousands of tourists . The beach is about 2 km away from kannur town.
A beautiful sculpture of a mother and a child , is an interesting feature of this beach. A garden , which consists of so many plants and flowers are also associated with this beach. It serves as a location for movies , for example the most famous movie Alai payuthae by Maniratnam has been shot here. Also it is one of the largest beach in kerala.
