Puthuppally is a Christian pilgrimage centre located in kottayam district of kerala. The world famous PUTHUPPALLY PERUNNAL will be celebrated in St. George orthodox church puthuppalli from april 28 to may 7 . The puthuppalli church is a Georgian pilgrim centre . it is under the control of Malankara orthodox church . it was built in 1750
The perunnal celebration begins with the hoisting of the perunnal flag on april 28 . Usually thousands of pilgrims attends the perunnal ceremony .
In this year the perunal ceremony begins with a procession followed by the hoisting of flag by Yuhanon Mar Thedoros , he is the metropolitan of kottarakkaraa – punalur diocese .
The peculiar feature of puthuppalli peruannal is , its rituals are very similar to the rituals in temples . on the 10 th day of the festival , that is in may 7 the famous VECHOOTTU take places . In the penultimate day of the vechoottu the parishioners from the puthuppalli and Ericadu villages will come to the church , in a grand procession and they bring firewood to the church . These firewood are used to prepare meals for the vechoottu
The puthuppalli Rhasa will be take place with a colourfull procession with gold and silver crosses . Elephants are also take part in this procession. In this day the world famous RHASA MASS take place . in this year the Rhasa qurbana will be led by Baselius Mar Thoma Paulose 11 .

SAINT ALPHONSAMMA
Bharananganam is now growing as one of the most famous pilgrimage center in India., which is located in kerala state in kottayam district. About 50 lakhs of visitors are arriving at bharanganum to see the first Indian saint.
Alphonsa chapel(st mary’s forane church anakkllu, bharanganam) can be easly arrived by bus, there is frequent bus from kottayam –pala-bharananganam.

Aruvikkzhi is a beautiful water falls located near to Kumarakom . This water falls is about 18 km away from kottayam town. It has a height of 100 ft. Kurisumala is the most famous pilgrim point in kerala. It is located in kottayam district , near to vagamon. . The literal meaning of kurisumala is mount of the cross . it is about 900 m above the sea level.
Vagamon is about 39 km away from Thodupuzha and 33 km from Erattupetta. The shortest way to reach vagamon is kottayam –palai – erattupetta – thekkoy- vagamon..

Kuravilangad is blessed with the presence of St mary’s church. The church was constructed in 105 AD. It is believed that , mother mary was first appeared in the world at kuravilangad . According to the church history , mother appeared to a few children and told them to construct a new church here .
