Mannarasala Ayilyam festival

Mannarasala is a Nagaraja temeple located at Mannarasala, the mannarasala ayilyam festival on 20 , 21 and 22 nd of October 2011. the most celebrated festival in mannarasala temple is Ayilyam festival in Thulam . the presiding deity at mannarasala temple is Nagaraja. It is believed that nagaraja is a form of Vishnu and spirit of siva.  The holly procession here is known as Ayilyam Ezhunnullathu .

Adventure tour in Kochi

The ernakulam  tourism promotion council thinks to starts a deep sea fishing cruise from  kochi ( the queen of Arabian sea ) on board the  vessels.  The department completed , the preliminary survey , on the possibility of adventure tourism in kochi . if this report come into action, the tourists can enjoy the fishing process  and huge ships, on the international sea route.  A group of 10 tourists can travel hundreds of nautical miles from coast.

The council may start first  day trip on November first.

Only few boat services are in thekkady, visitors jostle for tickets

Because of deepavali festival season, heavy rush  at the thekkady lake for boat tickets.  it is very difficult to get a boat ticket now a days. At present , the boats owned by kerala toursm department only conduct boat services.  The boats owned by the forest department , not yet get fitness certificate.  The officials said that, the repair works and other patch works will complete with in three days. Though the works will complete in three days , the issuing of  fitness certificate further delayed , because the boats in thekkady be checked only after checking the boats in vizhinjam and alleppy.  In thekkady , two boats owned by kerala forest department .  there is a large difference in boat charges between ktdc and forest department.  The ktdc charges Rs 150 and forest department charges Rs 40 per ticket.

Kalyanathandu attracts tourists , through out the year

Kalyanathandu is a small village and it is about 1 km away from Calverymount , on the cheruthuruthi – kattapana bus route . this village is a part of  idukki water reservoir, and it attracting thousands of tourists , every year. It is a calm and cool place to rejuvenate mind and body . the district headquarters located at painav , is about 13 km away from caverymount. From kalayanathandu you will  get an aerial view of  idukki dam , and a panoramic view of  idukki wild life sanctuary.  Before two years most of the tourist visiting here are from the local areas., but now a days , foreigners are also coming here , on their way to Thekkady.

Even though  Kalayanathandu attracting large number of  tourists, the area lacks basic facilities. Vehicles can reach only  half distance, the rest have to covers  by foot.  You cannot find this place in official tourism map, however , kalyanathandu is a hidden natural treasure.

New ecotourism projects in wayanad wildlife sanctuary

In order to conserve eco tourism in wayanad , authorities are getting ready to implement new ecotourism projects . The new projects includes, six hours trek and  , purchase  of 10 buses for wildlife safari.

Wayanad wildlife sanctuary consists on numerous birds, elephants, gaurs, and bears .  the main aim of these projects is to reduce the disturbance of vehicles inside the wildlife sanctuary.  The assistant wildlife warden said that , the trekking inside the sanctuary will starts on November.  The authorities are planning to charge Rs 1500 for trekking for a  5 member team. The officials believes that the trekking inside the sanctuary will effectively control  the encroachments and man made wildfire.
