NEW SAFARY BUSES FOR VISITORS IN GAVI

Wild life safari buses introduced for visitors to  Gavi in pathanamthitta district. . This is to reduce the number of private vehicles in this route.  Angamuzhi and Vallakadavu route passes through the periyar tiger reserve, which is a core tiger habitat The number of tourists to Gavi reduced to 100 each from both route.

The open buses provides a panoramic view of forest environment to the visitors.  Jeeps will also introduced in this route for trekking purposes.  The vehicle management is done by Eco development committee of the area. The jeep service mainly concentrated in Ranni – Gavi route.

Pathanamthitta district shares its borders with kollam, kottayam, and idukki. The rives flowing through pathanamthitta are manimala ,pamba, achan kovil .

The nearest airport is at nedumbasseri about 146 km away. The nearest railway station is at tiruvalla.

Major attractions

Sabarimala

Sabairmala is located about 70 km away from pathanamthitta town. The famous sabarimala temple dedicated to lord ayyappa is located here. Theis is a famous pilgrimage cente for hindu’s.the annual festival is known as ‘mandalakalam’ . it last for 41 days. Sabarimala is about 910 ma above sea level.

Pamba

Pamba is on the way to sabarimala. The place is also known as thriveni sangamam.

Thiruvalla

Thiruvalla is the headquarters of malankara marthoma Syrian church .

Kaviyoor

It is about 5 km from thiruvalla .this is a hilly region with picturesque mountains.

Aranmula

It is about 10 km from chegannur. The famous temple parthasarthy dedicated to lord krisna is located here. The river pamba flows through this region. The aranmula mirrors are very popular.
