Panchavadyam – Anamanada Parameswara Marar led the Panchavadyam .
Pandimelam – Kizhakkot Aniyan Marar led the Pandimelam .
Illanjithara melam – Peruvanam kuttan marar led the Illanjithara melam.
The number of melam artists are too high in thrissur poorm , compared with others. All artists are play their instrument , in a particular rhytham , that’s the beauty of kerala music on pooram day . The illanjithra melam began at Sree vadakkunatha temple . About 250 artists take part in illanjithara melam.

The famous thrissur pooram began on may 6 –Friday with the inauguration ceremony kodiyettam. The ceremony will become full fit on pooram day may 12 . Kodiyettam in Thiruvambadi devaswom held in between 11. 30 am and 12 noon and the same take placed in paramekkavu devaswom in between 11.45 am and 12.15 p.m.
The highlight of Thrissur pooram is Kudamattom , which is a friendly competition between paramekkavu and thiruvambady devaswom.
Another attraction in thrissur pooram is Sample Vedikkettu , ( fireworks display), will be held on may 10, at 7 pm. The pooram vedikkettu will be on may 13 , at 3 am.

The world famous Thrissur pooram will be celebrated on 12 –may – 2011. The preparations for Trichur pooram are in full swing. The workers of Paramekkavu and Thiruvambady Devaswoms are doing the finishing touches on elephant accoutrements , for the famous Kudamattom ceremony.
The prime attraction in thrissur pooram is Kudamattom. In kudamattom ceremony wide variety of umbrellas , are displayed on the elephants ,. When kudamattom begins the Thekkinkadu Maidan will become a pool of humanity. Kudamattom begins in the evening ceremony of thrissur pooram . Thirty elephants are participated in kudamattom. Fifteen from thiruvambadi and fifteen from paramekkavu.In this year , the pooram preparations are under the control of V N Purushothaman .

The flower show organized by the Thrissur Agri holticulture society in association with the kerala agricultural university., vegetables and fruits promotion Council and Agriculture department , the flower show showcases , rare and exotic , plants and flowers and other garden products. More than 150 varieties of flowers are on display.
Exotic orchids as well as export quality variety of anthuriums are a visual treat. Vying for attention of visitors are several varieties of roses , petunia, zinnia and phlox. The flower show is aimed at creating awareness among the public on the diversity of floriculture , horticulture products apart from innovations in agriculture. Gardening tools , fertilizers and pesticides are also available. The major attraction of the show will be the floral arrangements. Thematic decorations in Indian tradition and western styles to suit every occasion are bound to fascinate people. Apart from the floral decorations , vegetables and fruits carving and a pet show of various species of birds and animals is also attracting visitors.

Guruvayoor temple is a famous hindu pilgrimage in kerala. it is located 30 km north west of thrissur district. The temple is dedicated to sree guruvayoorappan. it is the only temple that host maximum number of weddings occur in kerala. the famous guruvayoor sathyagraha is related with guruvayoor temple. The sathyagraha is for demanding temple entry for the people belongs to lower caste. The people in kerala believes that the temple was built by ‘guru’, the preceptor of the god’s and vayu. The main entrance is nanda. A 33.5 m long gold plated ‘dwajastambham’ is located at chuttambalam. Also you can see deepastambham which has a height of 7 m . the sree kovil constructed in a square shape . the temple also have the images of lord ganapathi, sree ayyappa and edathedathy kavil bhagavathi. Only the people belongs to hindu caste are allowed inside the temple.
Guruvayoor temple have an elephant park. Which is known by the name punnathoorkotta .it is about 2km from guruvayoor. Here you can see about 50 elephants.
