Recently I visited wayanad , this visit totally changed my opinion about wayanad. Most of the peoples , including me thinks that wayanad is a forest area, occupied by illiterate tribals . After visiting I understood that the road networks and the accommodation facilities here are better than my home town. The main cities here are kalpeta , sultan bathery and mananthavady .
Firstly we targeted Edakkal caves as our tour destination. From there we moved to Muthanga wildlife sanctuary . Because of bad luck , we didn’t get the entry pass . And then we went to Kuruva islands. The way to kuruva island was a remarkable experience in my life, on the way I saw number of anthills and few deers.
Visitors in Kuruva island permitted only in between 9.30 am and 3.30 pm. It was a shocking news, because already the time was 1 pm , we were only at the half distance. Our tour co-ordinator said that “ already we covered half distance , so the better choice was go forward and we can see the river Kabani on which the kuruva islands are located” we got the permission to go to the banks of river kabani but the securities were not allowed to enter the kuruva islands. The banks of the kabani river has number of rocks . we seated there and skipped from one to another. The guard informed us that the time to leave the banks reached , because after some time elephants would come that may hurt the tourists.
The next day we went to Muthanga wildlife sanctuary . God grace , we got the tickets to enter the wildlife sanctuary. We took a rented jeep and covered all points in the sanctuary. On the way we saw five peacocks, number of elephants, migrating birds and tree houses etc.
From Muthanga wildlife sanctuary we went to a Jain temple . The statues in the temple was so attractive. From the temple we were moved to Karappuzha earth dam and then to pookot lake.
I saw number of handicrafts showrooms at wayanad. I purchased a cap and a bottle of honey .
I enjoyed my holidays very much . wayanad is a good tour place.
